COMPLETED PROJECT / Argentina
Compressor motor overhaul
Dismantling, winding assessment, bearing replacement, rotor balancing and final workshop testing of a failed main air compressor motor.

THE REQUIREMENT
Repair of a failed main air compressor motor in Argentina.
The requirement
A failed main air compressor motor required repair in Argentina. The execution route was local workshop overhaul rather than a simple replacement supply. The scope included dismantling, winding assessment and mechanical component work.
The motor had to be assessed as equipment requiring an overhaul sequence. The scope therefore progressed from condition assessment through repair activity and final workshop testing.
Assessment and workshop work
The motor was dismantled and its winding condition assessed. Bearing replacement and rotor balancing formed part of the overhaul, followed by final workshop testing before return to service.
Winding assessment identifies a different part of the scope from bearing replacement. Rotor balancing and final testing are retained as the workshop activities.
Technical significance
The project illustrates a repair route that addresses electrical condition and mechanical components within the same workshop scope. That distinction matters when comparing a complete overhaul with a quotation covering only one component or inspection activity.
MSACHKL coordinated the local overhaul route for the failed compressor motor, connecting assessment, bearing work, balancing and workshop testing before the equipment returned to service.
