COMPLETED PROJECT / Hong Kong → Australia
Riding crew mobilisation
Two certified welders and one mechanical fitter mobilised within 28 hours for MO32 repair works during vessel transit to Brisbane.

THE REQUIREMENT
MO32 repair works required during vessel transit from Hong Kong to Brisbane.
The requirement
MO32 repair works were required during vessel transit from Hong Kong to Brisbane. The attendance requirement was time sensitive because the work needed to be carried out before arrival in Australia. The execution route therefore relied on mobilisation and work during the voyage.
Two certified welders and one mechanical fitter were mobilised within 28 hours. The personnel mix reflected the welding and mechanical work included in the repair requirement.
Mobilisation and work during transit
Mobilisation brought the required trades into a single riding crew arrangement. The repair works were carried out during vessel transit, allowing the operating schedule to be used as the work window rather than reserving all activity for the destination port.
The project connected personnel availability with the vessel’s movement. The 28 hour mobilisation period describes deployment of the crew, not a claim that the entire repair scope was completed within that period.
Technical significance
Riding crew work changes the planning question. The team must be matched to the task and the available onboard arrangements, while the scope remains connected to the voyage and the vessel’s operating constraints. Deployment timing is therefore part of the technical execution plan.
The completed activity demonstrates support for a repair requirement with a defined destination and a limited mobilisation window. The welding and mechanical trades were brought together so the MO32 works could be executed during transit before arrival in Brisbane.
